Hayden PanettiereHayden Panettiere’s dad has pleaded no contest to a battery charge after a domestic incident last summer.

Alan Panettiere was accused of hitting his wife, Hayden’s mum Lesley last August during an argument at their family home in West Hollywood. He was arrested on a felony level charge but it was eventually dropped to a misdemeanor.

After he was released on bail, Alan told reporters is was all a “misunderstanding” and “nothing actually happened” despite a visible bruise on Lesley’s face. Hayden later said it was “blown way out of proportion”.

Yesterday after entering his plea, Alan was ordered to complete 52 weeks of domestic violence counselling and pay $400 in fines by a Beverly Hills Superior Court judge. He has also been sentenced to 24 months probation.
