jade goodyJade Goody’s on-off boyfriend Jack Tweed has been released from jail today - less than five months after he was sentenced to 18 months inside for assault.

The 21 year old was jailed in September after being found guilty of attacking a teenager with a golf club in 2006. He was sentenced to 18 months to reflect the severity of the assault - but has now been released on conditional parole: he has to stay at his mum’s home, will be monitored by an electronic tag and forced to obey a curfew.

Jade, who was diagnosed with cervical cancer just weeks before Jack’s autumn trial, said that she is delighted that he’s being released despite the conditions: “I can’t wait to see him. It’ll be bliss.

“I got word of his release date last week and spent all last weekend preparing for his return.

“I’ve been covering cushions and I’ve also painted my toilet walls bright pink and put a black chandelier in there.”

The couple were in an “off” period during Jade’s diagnosis and Jack’s trial but reconciled while he was in jail.

Jade has since said that she “need[s] him now more than ever” and that they’ve discussed getting married.

Jade, who has two children from a previous relationship, has been given a 40% chance of survival despite surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
