robbie williamsRobbie Williams‘ sister has said the singer is definitely planning to move back to the UK after years of self-imposed exile in Los Angeles.

Sally Symonds told Hello magazine: “Last time he lived in England he was so high-profile he could not get any peace.

“He was living in London and resorted to buying a flat on the 15th floor. It was like Alcatraz.”

But now the former Take That star has bought a £7million 71-acre mansion in Wiltshire and according to Sally, could move back as early as next month: “This time he hopes he can get some kind of private life. I’m not sure the house will be private enough but if he feels pressured he’ll be straight back on a plane.

“Robert has missed Britain. He has wanted to come back for the past 12 to 18 months. He loves the British culture and the British people and he wants to spend more time here.

“He has enjoyed living in LA - he can move around freely and the sun always shines. But it’s a pretty soulless place.

“When you have an addictive nature, you need to nurture yourself. You have to put yourself in safe places. If you’re stressed, it’s easy to fall off. My hope is he can keep himself together.

“He doesn’t party any more. He’s happy to be at home. He has a routine - he writes every day and walks his dogs but has a social life, too.

“Nothing’s set in stone and he’s still keeping his house in LA. But he wants a base here, and I think he plans to stay here for a while.”

She added that she expects Robbie’s girlfriend Ayda Field to join him in Britain: “I think Ayda will come with him. He brought her home to Stoke a few months ago and she seemed a very kind, pleasant, down-to-earth girl. They seem to interact well.

“I’m glad he has someone - we all need a partner, and if you can find a good one, that’s great. They’re very settled but I don’t think they have any plans to get married at the moment.”

Late last year, Robbie hinted he may return to the UK and that he may also rejoin Take That - once he completes his next studio album.
