Patrick Swayze gives up treatment for pancreatic cancer?

Patrick Swayze has reportedly decided to give up medical treatment for his pancreatic cancer.

Patrick was diagnosed with the disease a year ago and doctors said he was responding well to treatment which included surgery, chemotherapy and an experimental drug regime.

But a source claiming to be a family friend told the National Enquirer: “There’s nothing more doctors can do for him.

“His condition is inoperable and they have stopped the chemo. He’s still losing weight and he’s very weak.

“We are down to the wire and the goal now is to keep Patrick comfortable. He’s taking morphine. That and the cigarettes seem to keep him functioning through the pain.

“Patrick regards himself as a cowboy, and is determined to die with his boots on and no regrets.”

Earlier this month, Patrick was hospitalised for a week with pneumonia but dismissed suggestions he was on his death bed.

His mum Patsy told Star magazine that the Dirty Dancing star still has hope: “Patrick is strong, and he’s determined to beat this!

“Please tell everyone to keep us in their prayers. Pray for Patrick. I know he has a lot of fans out there thinking about him, and we all appreciate that.”
