Britney Spears’ ex-boyfling trying to disrupt her recovery, says dad
Britney Spears‘ dad Jamie Spears has obtained a restraining order against Britney’s ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib.
The paparazzo joins her former manager/advisor Sam Lutfi in being barred from contacting Britney or any members of her family. Lutfi has been banned from communicating with the star for around a year since Jamie and lawyer Andrew Wallet were appointed her conservators.
Lawyers representing Spears sought the new order at Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday, claiming Britney asked her conservators to “protect her from Sam and Adnan” after a new effort from the men to disrupt her recovery: “On the first anniversary of the establishment of the conservatorship, the co-conservators are informed and believe that these three figures are working in concert to disrupt the conservatorship, with an utter disregard for Ms Spears’ health and well being.
“[Britney] innocently informs [Ghalib] of her destinations and that he then arranges for paparazzi to meet and film her to his financial benefit. [He] is harmful to Ms. Spears and to her recovery.”
Despite the long-standing contact ban, Sam is also said to have tried to contact Britney through her hairdresser at the end of December, telling the stylist: “I’ve done everything I can to free her from this. Very close to getting her free now.”
Jamie and Andrew were appointed Britney’s conservators last February after she was hospitalised twice in less than a month on mental health holds. The order was made “permanent” later in the year to avoid having to renew it each month. By the end of last year, Britney voiced complaints about her lack of freedom under the control order but is said to have agreed to an extension in order to facilitate her forthcoming tour and access to her children.
