Coleen Rooney: nothing’s changed since we married - except my name

Coleen Rooney has said marriage hasn’t made a big difference to her relationship with Wayne Rooney.

The couple married in a lavish three day event in Italy last summer after dating for around six years.

She told the Mirror recently: “Nothing’s changed dramatically since we got married, it’s just nice to know that my name’s changed and that it’s permanent.

“At first it was weird to hear people calling me Mrs Rooney and quite hard to get used to. But now I like it and I’m glad I did it.

“We’re just like any ordinary couple and we like to do all the everyday things, such as visit family and friends. I go to my mum’s loads. Me and Wayne will go over for our tea and stay there for the night. I like company and it’s nice to be in a house with people around.

“If Wayne has a rare day off we’ll spend it together, maybe visit some family or go out for a Sunday roast. Most of the time we do the average things that people do, such as stay in and watch the telly.

“We watch X Factor when it’s on and I’m a Celebrity…. Wayne loves his films too, he’ll watch DVD after DVD, or we’ll go to the pictures. Life hasn’t really changed.”

But she added that she would like it to change in the not too distant future: “I would like to have a family - maybe three or four children. And I would be happy to be a full-time mum.

“Working mums do a great job, but my mum was a full-time mum and she loved it. It was nice because she took us to school and picked us up from school - she was always there for us.

“I do enjoy my work, but I would be happy when we do have children to just get on with that.”
