Jade Goody to find out today if her cancer has spread

Jade Goody is reportedly meeting with doctors today to find out whether or not her cancer has continued to spread throughout her body.

The one-time Big Brother star was diagnosed with cervical cancer last summer but during her hysterectomy in September, doctors found the cancer had already begun to infultrate nearby organs, requiring her to undergo intensive radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment.

The reality TV star was hospitalised again at the weekend after being left in “excruciating pain” by her latest round of chemotherapy and sources close to the family say that the setback may be a sign that things aren’t going that well.

A family friend told the Sun: “We fear the situation may have gone from bad to worse.

“Jade has been told to face the fact that the tests might show she will not get through this. Her only thoughts are for her boys.”

She was initially given a 50/50 chance of survival but as her treatment progressed, doctors told her the survival rate was down to around 40%. Now medics fear the disease may have entered her bloodstream or lymph system, leading to secondary tumours in other parts of her body.

The source added: “Jade is trying to be brave for the boys but inside she is obviously extremely frightened. Her mum is in pieces.”
