Strictly Come Dancing stars’ fake tans causing huge laundry bills
The Strictly Come Dancing tour has reportedly run into an unexpected expense - laundry costs related to the stars’ fake tans.
The dancing celebrities are halfway through their six week live tour and an insider told the Mirror they’ve so far had specialist cleaning bills from three hotels because of tan stains left on bedsheet.
The source explained: “The competitors have to look their best throughout the 45-date tour and that means loads of fake tan.
“The make-up department spray it on liberally and on a daily basis, but unfortunately it has a tendency to run at night.
“Because they use such heavy duty stage make-up and tanning products, it has been ruining the bed linen and towels. The poor hotel staff - particularly housekeeping - have been tearing their hair out in frustration.
“Dry cleaning doesn’t come cheap and every hotel the celebs have stayed in has been forced to spend around £1,000 each on cleaning bills.
“The guys themselves are a delight to have around - it’s just a shame they all have to be like Oompa-Loompas!”
The tour is made up from celebrities the most recent series of the dance off - Rachel Stevens, Jodie Kidd, Cheri Lunghi and Tom Chambers - and from previous series - Julian Clary & Jill Halfpenny from series 2, and Kenny Logan & Gethin Jones from series 5.
