peaches geldofPeaches Geldof has announced that she’s separating from husband of six months, Max Drummey.

The couple married in a secret, quickie ceremony in Las Vegas last summer after a whirlwind romance and after flying home to explain her actions to dad Bob Geldof, Peaches moved to New York to live with the American musician.

However, in a statement released on Saturday, the couple explained: “After much soul-searching we have made the mutual decision to end our marriage and have agreed to go our separate ways.

“Our parting is amicable and both of us still respect and care about each other immensely.

“There were no other people involved in this decision and we both look forward to a future as good friends.

Peaches Geldof will continue to split her time between New York and London.”

Shortly after the marriage, Peaches admitted she didn’t going into it thinking it would “last forever” and in November last year, the couple were rumoured to be on the verge of splitting up after Peaches admitted to friends that she no longer fancied Max.

A source told the Sun: “The whole marriage was a sham from day one. Max actually loved Peaches and was besotted but she just saw him as her latest hobby - the cool guy in a band that would make her look good if they were spotted out together.

“He wanted to actually try at the marriage and be a grown up. He begged her to at least give it a shot because they had taken vows but Peaches just didn’t want to know.

“She would have tantrums if he ever suggested they live together and would constantly slag him off behind his back. She actually told him she wasn’t ready to settle down despite the fact she had married him.

“This has cost her a lot of friends and she has shown herself to be an uncaring, spoilt, rude and completely selfish person who lives in her own little bubble.

“The notion that she and Max are still friends is ridiculous. Peaches is completely bored by him and has no interest in even seeing him again.

“He in turn is learning what a nasty little brat she has been and is starting to realise he has been used.”
