Eddie Murphy agrees to give Melanie Brown £7million in child support
Eddie Murphy and Melanie Brown have reportedly reached a settlement in their long-running child support battle.
The pair have been arguing over child support payments since the birth of daughter Angel Iris in April 2007. Eddie initially disputed he was the father of the child but even after DNA tests proved that he was, he still resisted the former Spice Girl’s payment demands and even refused to meet the 22 month old little girl.
However, a source close to the pair has said that they have finally come to a financial agreement which will see Eddie paying out around £35,000 a month until Angel turns 18 in 2025 - a total of around £7million.
The source told the News of the World: “Mel is delighted that the case is over as she just wanted what was right for her girl.
“It was never about money - it was Mel’s way of asking Eddie to show consideration for Angel.”
