Usher cancels performance to be with wife after surgery complication

Usher cancelled his performance at a prestigious pre-Grammy party on Saturday night after his wife reportedly experienced complications during surgery.

Usher was due to perform at music mogul Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy Gala on Saturday night but Davis told partygoers the singer had to cancel due to a “serious injury in the family”.

According to reports, his wife Tameka Foster Raymond was undergoing cosmetic surgery in Brazil when the “injury” occurred. It is not yet known what happened or the severity of the condition.

Speaking after the event on Sunday, Davis told People magazine: “I talked to his mom. My thoughts are with them, whatever they’re facing.”

Usher and Tameka married in August 2007 and have two children together - 15 month old Usher Raymond V and 2 month old son Naveid. Tameka also has three other sons from a previous relationship.
