The couple were originally linked in 2006 but denied rumours that their relationship was the reason for the end of Kate’s marriage to Chris Robinson. They finally confirmed their romance in early 2007 but broke up later that summer. They reconciled early last year but broke up again in the late spring, shortly before Kate had a brief fling with Owen’s friend, Lance Armstrong.

Now sources close to the You, Me and Dupree stars say they’re “back on”: “Kate spent all Sunday at Owen’s place in Malibu.”

But the potentially on-again couple weren’t alone - she had her five year old son Ryder with her too: “Ryder’s known Owen for years and they get along really well.

“But she wouldn’t take him along unless she thought Owen was going to be back in their lives for a good while. She always puts Ryder’s welfare before her own.”
