lily allenLily Allen has said she’s finding it a lot easier to control her weight now she feels happier about herself.

The singer has previously admitted feeling suicidal at 18 after the end of her first big relationship, then struggling to deal with fame after her first album ‘Smile’ was released, and checking into treatment last year after miscarrying at four months.

She told the News of the World recently: “For the past two years I was deeply unhappy. That’s when I found myself eating more, but now I’m the happiest I’ve been in ages, so there’s been no comfort eating.

“I’m not one of those girls who is obsessed by their weight. I’ve just got fitter and I’ve been running three times a week.

“I’m not ashamed of going to hospital or for therapy [either]. Too many famous people try to hide the fact they’ve needed some help - it shouldn’t be like that.

“People with normal lives need a bit of help sometimes. My life is anything but normal. It’s weird. I’ve got a funny head and I need to sort it out sometimes. I go and see a head doctor and then it all makes sense.”

“I have bad days when I drive myself mad by doing silly things like Googling myself, but I’ve learned not to care as much. I can’t control everything.

“I’m just honest, a little bit cheeky and like having fun. I rarely fall out with people at all. I just stick up for myself and the people I care about.”
