Britney Spears’ ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib charged with assault
Britney Spears‘ ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib is facing up to seven years in jail after driving into a legal rep earlier this month.
The British-born former paparazzo allegedly drove his Mercedes into a process server who was trying to serve Adnan with the temporary restraining order obtained by Jamie Spears.
According to the prosecutors, Adnan, who dated Britney during the final months of her troubled period, drove the car at the victim near his apartment complex on 11th February. To avoid being pinned against a truck, the victim jumped on the hood of the Mercedes and hung on as the car swerved, but then fell off and broke his wrist. The prosecutors claim Adnan then drove away without stopping.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney has charged Adnan with assault with a deadly weapon, battery causing great bodily injury and hit-and-run, all at a felony level. A warrant has been issued for his arrest and prosecutors have asked for bail to be set at $110,000.
Adnan was named in the new restraining order request alongside Britney’s former friend and advisor, Sam Lutfi. Her dad Jamie Spears claims the men are trying to interfere and disrupt the star’s recovery. Jamie is expected to testify again in court today in an effort to have the order made permanent.
