Britney Spears’ restraining order against Sam Lutfi extended
Britney Spears‘ former friend/advisor Sam Lutfi and her ex-boyfling Adnan Ghalib have been forbidden to contact the star for another three weeks.
Sam has been banned from contacting Britney or any of her family since February last year but earlier this month, Britney’s dad Jamie Spears requested a new temporary restraining order against both him and Adnan, claiming the men were trying to disrupt her ongoing recovery. Jamie testified at a court hearing in Los Angeles this week in a bid for the order to be made permanent.
After Jamie spoke on Monday, Britney’s hairdress Roberta Romero addressed the court on Wednesday, saying that somone who “said his name was Sam” kept calling her and messaging her in an attempt to pass messages to the star.
Roberta explained: “He wanted information about Britney. He said he was on her side. I told him, ‘Leave me alone, stop calling me.’
“[He sent messages saying] ‘Please relay the truth to her. I did not do this to her’, ‘I’ve done everything I can to free her from this. Very close to getting her free now.’, and ‘I went to court to free here’.”
Britney’s bodyguard Itamar Gelbman added that Britney was “scared” by Sam’s attempts to get in touch: “She asked for more patrols [around the house]. She wanted me to do more, to make sure everything was locked. She couldn’t fall asleep because of [Sam’s texts to Romero]. She told me to make him stop.”
Sam was expected to appear in court for cross-examination but failed to attend, claiming he was not served with the subpeona correctly.
The court have extended the existing restraining orders until 18th March, with the case set to resume on 1st April to hear from more witnesses.
In related news, Adnan Ghalib turned himself into police yesterday after three charges were made against him on Tuesday.
An arrest warrant was issued for the former paparazzi photographer after he was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, hit-and-run and battery following a run-in with a legal representative earlier this month. He allegedly hit the process server with his car before fleeing the scene on 11th February.
Adnan surrendered himself to a police station in Van Nuys yesterday and was released on a $110,000 bail.
