Peaches Geldof: my marriage caused me “a lot of grief”

Peaches Geldof has told friends that her now-defunct marriage to Max Drummey caused her “a lot of grief” but it’s brought her closer to her dad Bob Geldof.

The 19 year old socialite married Max last August in a secret quickie ceremony in Las Vegas but after just six months, the couple announced their separation in February.

According to the People newspaper, Peaches told friends at this week’s NME Awards: “It’s been a messy time but I’m cool with it now and I’m here to enjoy myself.

“It’s caused me a lot of grief but I have had a lot of support. I am very lucky.

“Some good has come out of it - me and Dad are getting on much better. He’s been great and I’ve seen a lot of him recently.”

Bob is said to have been livid when he heard about Peaches’ wedding but is said to have calmed down after she convinced him it wasn’t just for publicity purposes.
