Jade Goody worried she won’t make it to boys’ christening next weekend
Jade Goody may bring forward her plans to christen her sons out of fear she won’t be well enough able to attend the ceremony next weekend.
Jade’s boys - five year old Bobby and four year old Freddie - are due to be christened in a private ceremony next Saturday to be followed by a children’s party to celebrate the day. Jade, who is said to be thinking of being christened herself alongside the boys, has helped with the planning for the event at a local Church of England church but according to the Mirror, now wants to bring it forward after telling friends: “I’m worried I’m not going to make it to the weekend.”
Bishop Jonathan Blake, who performed the blessing at Jade’s wedding to Jack Tweed a week ago, told the Sunday Mirror: “The christening can happen anywhere, inside or outside, there are no restrictions. It can even be carried out in the hospice, if that’s where Jade wants it. It would not matter one iota if she is bedridden.”
The reality TV star was admitted to St Clare’s Hospice in Essex on Friday evening to reevaluate her pain control regime after her current painkillers made her hallucinate.
A source told the newspaper: “She no doubt feels weaker than she did this time last week and knows there is no time to waste.
“By yesterday afternoon, she was feeling much brighter and was concentrating on the christening party for the boys. She wants to make it special for them and their friends, even if she does have to bring it forward.”
Jade is currently under observation at the hospice while she gets used to the new painkillers but a source close to the family explained that she hopes to go home again tomorrow.
The source explained: “She was very reluctant to go to the hospice in the first place. She was confused and hysterical, thinking everyone was against her, trying to trick her into going.
“She has always said she wants to die at home and she thought they were trying to deny her that last wish.
“Eventually Jack and her doctors convinced her it was for the best and she is grateful to them now, but she wants to go home again as soon as possible.”
Her spokesperson Max Clifford added: “I’ve spoken to her – she had a good night and she is a lot brighter. She is looking forward to the christening.
“Some of her friends have been to see her, including a couple of her bridesmaids. Jack has been in and has stayed and the children are going to see her.
“Of course, the boys don’t know it’s a hospice. They just think mummy is in hospital.”
