zoe ball and norman cookDJ Norman Cook, better known as his alter-ego Fatboy Slim, has checked himself into rehab.

The dance music star entered treatment on Monday to receive help for his drinking problem.

His manager explained Norman has had the problem “for some time”: “It’s all pretty straight forward. He has gone in voluntarily to sort out his drinking problem.”

Norman has previously claimed that the difference between him and his “show-off” alter-ego is “a bad Hawaiian shirt and half a bottle of vodka”: “Sometimes it feels a little undignified but I never seem to get tired of getting drunk. I’ve tried going on stage sober and it wasn’t much fun.”

Norman has a nine year old son with wife Zoe Ball.
