Jade Goody in less pain and feeling more settled after operation
Jade Goody is hopeful she will be able to attend her sons’ christenings as planned at the weekend after emergency surgery has relieved her pain.
After a difficult week at home last week, Jade was admitted to a hospice on Friday to allow doctors to regain control her pain medication - but she ended up being transferred to hospital on Sunday night and underwent surgery to remove a blockage in her bowel.
Her spokesperson Max Clifford explained yesterday that the surgery could give her an extra couple of weeks of life: “The prognosis depends on how she responds to surgery and how beneficial it is.
“Jade did have problems after the op but is much more settled today, so we’re hoping she improves.
“If her bowel is cleared and she’s able to eat properly and regain some strength she could live longer than [the end of the month].”
Kevin Adams, a friend of Jade’s, added: “She is in less pain now. On a scale of one to ten she was in a sharp pain of ten, but she is now around a six.”
Jade had planned to have her sons’ five year old Bobby and four year old Freddie christened during a private church service this Saturday but at the weekend was thought to be considering bringing the date forward in case she wasn’t well enough to attend.
Clifford explained that the plans are still not set in stone: “Everything depends on how she feels.”
In related news, Jade is said to have “sobbed her heart out” when she heard that husband Jack Tweed had been found guilty of his second assault offence in less than six months.
At a hearing at Epping Magistrates Court yesterday, Jack was found guilty of assaulting and threatening a taxi driver. Last year, Jack served four months in jail for the earlier offence and is currently on conditional parole - but the sentencing for the new charge has been postponed until the end of this month in light of Jade’s condition.
A source close to the reality TV star told the Sun: “Jade will make every second count [in case he gets locked away for her final days]. She doesn’t blame Jack. She loves him deeply. But it’s an extra strain.”
