Miley Cyrus: I was bullied at school but it’s made me stronger now
Miley Cyrus has revealed she was “friendless” and bullied at school.
In her new book ‘Miley Cyrus: Miles To Go’, she explains that one particular group of girls picked on her at school in Tennessee and she didn’t have anyone to defend her: “The girls took it beyond normal bullying. These were big, tough girls. I was scrawny and short. They were fully capable of doing me bodily harm.”
One time the girls locked her in a bathroom: “They shoved me in. I was trapped. I banged on the door until my fists hurt. Nobody came. I spent what felt like an hour in there, waiting for someone to rescue me, wondering how my life had gotten so messed up.”
Other times they’d use verbal taunting instead: “[They] would say, ‘Your dad’s a one-hit wonder. You’ll never amount to anything - just like him.’”
But rather than letting it get her down, the sixteen year old multimillionaire insists the experience has made her a better person: “I don’t dare forget the struggle. There was a reason for it.
“I brought that girl with me, and she reminds me to be compassionate. To not hold grudges. To be supportive. To be there for others when I know I’m needed.”
Do you think Katie Price's marriage to Alex Reid will last?
