Cheryl ColeCheryl Cole is reportedly livid that her husband Ashley Cole was arrested after a night out clubbing while she is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

The Girls Aloud singer is climbing the 19,000ft mountain with bandmate Kimberly Walsh and other celebrities including Gary Barlow, Alesha Dixon, Denise van Outen and Ronan Keating as a fundraising exercise for this year’s Comic Relief - but unfortunately for Ashley, the mountain has mobile phone coverage, meaning Cheryl found out about Ashley’s arrest almost instantly.

The Chelsea player spent several hours in a police cell after being arrested outside The Collection Club in West London at around 2am yesterday morning. He arrested for being drunk and disorderly after shouting and swearing at police officers following dinner with teammates John Terry and Michael Mansienne, then drinking in the club’s bar.

A source close to Cheryl told the Mirror that she is livid that he broke their “no clubbing” agreement, put into place after he had a drunken one-night-stand at the start of last year: “This is the last thing she needed. The cheating allegations last year almost ended their relationship.

“It only survived because Ashley agreed not to go out boozing with his teammates, who Cheryl thinks are a bad influence on him. She was never very keen on Ashley going out with footballers because of all the attention they inevitably get from women.

“That deal had been intact ever since - up until Wednesday night. Cheryl even reminded him of it before going away to Africa. With Cheryl gone it seems the temptation to go out proved too much.”

But the source added that the X Factor judge won’t let it distract her from her current goal: “It won’t stop her reaching the top – and she’ll deal with everything else later.”
