Rihanna WILL testify against Chris Brown if required by law
Rihanna WILL testify in the case against her boyfriend Chris Brown if required, according to her lawyer.
This week, Chris was charged with felony-level assault of the singer in addition to making criminal threats against her during an incident in his car a month ago. After the couple reconciled in Miami last weekend, Rihanna is said to have told the detectives investigating their case that she was unwilling to take the stand against Chris - but now her lawyer has said she will do what is necessary.
Donald Etra told Us Weekly: “She is planning to do everything that the law requires her to do. If she is required to testify, she will do so.”
“The fact is, Rihanna desires that it be quick and expeditious. She wants to get back to her life and her career.”
Etra appeared in court on Thursday on behalf of his client at Chris’s arraignment. During a brief court session, the hearing was pushed back for a month in light of the new charge against Chris but Etra told the judge that Rihanna had no desire for a “no contact order” to be imposed on Chris in the meantime.
Etra refused to comment on “the nature of their relationship” at the moment, saying it would be “inappropriate”.
Chris is currently free on $50,000 bail and if convicted of both charges, could spend up to four years and eight months in a state prison.
Do you think Katie Price's marriage to Alex Reid will last?
