Chris Brown to plead guilty if guaranteed no jail time?
Chris Brown will reportedly pleaded guilty to the charges of assault and making criminal threats if the offences are dropped from felony level to misdemeanors.
Chris faces up to four years and eight months in a state prison if he is found guilty of the two felony charges against girlfriend Rihanna - but sources close to the singer say he’d be willing to plead guilty if he could be reassured that he would not face jail time.
A source explained: “His lawyers could argue that Rihanna hit him first and while he should still have walked away instead of retaliating, the severity of the charge should be reduced.”
The singer is said to have entered an anger management programme and is arranging a deal with Rihanna that would see him pay her around $10million if he “as much as squeezers her arm the wrong way” in the future.
Chris is also said to want to appear on US chat shows to talk about his counselling, with Oprah Winfrey’s show his first choice - but Oprah may not be willing.
The talk show host said on Friday that she will be doing a show this week about domestic violence “dedicated to all the Rihannas of the world”. She added: “If a man hits you once, he will hit you again. He will hit you again. Love doesn’t hurt.”
