rachel stevensRachel Stevens has revealed that she won’t be inviting any of her former S Club 7 bandmates to her wedding later this year.

The Strictly Come Dancing star spent four years in the group between 1999-2003 with bandmates Hannah Spearitt, Jon Lee, Tina Barrett, Jo O’Meara, Bradley McIntosh and Paul Cattermole. After rising to fame in their own CBBC television series, they had four UK number ones and top ten hits all around the world. They released four studio albums, selling sold 16million copies worldwide, and released a feature film Seeing Double, before they split in 2003, saying they all needed “to move on and face new challenges”.

Last year Jo O’Meara, Bradley McIntosh and Paul Cattermole regrouped for a limited reunion tour as “S Club 3″ but Rachel told Star magazine that her wedding won’t be another reunion for the singers.

She explained: “I haven’t seen any of them for so long, so no, I don’t think any of them will be there.

“It’s not because I don’t want them to but because we’re not really in touch any more. Our paths have gone in different directions.

“It’s a celebration and you know, we just want all our closest friends and families and people we love around us and we can’t wait for the big day.”

She added she often felt unhappy in the group, which was aimed at the growing pre-teen ‘tween’ market: “S Club was aimed at a very young audience and everything had to be smiley-happy all the time.

“It’s hard to feel that positive everyday. I struggled with it. There were times when it was difficult to keep up that facade because I had problems in my life and I didn’t feel remotely happy.”

Rachel will marry fiance Alex Bourne in “August or September”, following their engagement last year.
