Jade Goody wants to go home before she goes completely blind

Jade Goody is reportedly going blind as her cancer continues to spread.

Sources close to the reality TV star say her sight is deteriorating rapidly - at Saturday’s christening service, she was still able to recognise relatives and friends but now she has been reduced to partial vision in just one eye.

A source told the Sun that it’s made Jade’s desire to leave the Royal Marsden Hospital in London - where she has been based on and off for the last six weeks: “She wants to go home and be surrounded by family and friends - not in a hospital bed.

“Everyone’s concentrating on getting the nurses prepared so that she can face the pain at home.”

The source added that going home would also mean seeing her sons, five year old Bobby and four year old Freddie, before she loses her sight entirely: “Every day Jade’s away from the children she knows it’s one less day she’ll get to spend with them before she dies.

“She’s desperate to be close to her sons in her final hours [but] hates them seeing her in hospital.”

Her spokesperson Max Clifford confirmed: “It means so much to her to be close to the boys.

“She’s hoping she’ll be able to go home in the next few days if the nurses can look after her there.”

Jade was diagnosed with cervical cancer last summer but even after surgery and aggressive chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments, the cancer continued to spread and last month, doctors told her they could do nothing more for her except pain management. She was initially told she had less than two months to live but that has since been revised and at husband Jack Tweed’s court hearing last week, his lawyer justified a delay in his sentencing, saying that Jade had less than four weeks left.
