lindsay lohanLindsay Lohan’s dad has, unsurprisingly, blamed his daughter’s new legal issues on her girlfriend Samantha Ronson.

Lindsay is due in court in Los Angeles later today after a warrant was issued for her arrest on Friday. The warrant is believed to be related to her two DUIs in 2007: Lindsay was sentenced to two days jail time (of which she served 84 minutes), three years probation and ordered to attend 18 month of alcohol education classes.

According to TMZ, it is the latter causing the problem now: she attended classes for a year before switching programmes and the director of the new programme is said to have reported her after she was very late for sessions because of problems with the paparazzi.

But Lindsay’s dad Michael Lohan has said he thinks the root of Lindsay’s problems is still her girlfriend Samantha Ronson - who Lindsay began dating after the DUIs and her third stint in rehab.

Michael said yesterday: “I love Lindsay. I’ve been telling everyone this relationship with Sam [Ronson] is toxic. Hopefully this [legal snag] is a wake-up call for her because we all really want her to get her life better.

“I feel like when you’re around the right people, you do the right thing, when you’re around the wrong people, you do the wrong thing.

“[But] she’ll deal with [the warrant] like she has to. She’s not going to ignore it. Mark my words, as long as Samantha Ronson is in Lindsay’s life, nothing is going to go right!”

In related news, police attended Samantha’s house in LA on Saturday after an argument reportedly between the two women ended with a broken window. One of the women is said to have thrown a vase through the glass during the row. No charges were made.
