Pete Burns in hospital after “kidney failure”
Pete Burns has revealed he underwent emergency surgery last week after being rushed to hospital.
Writing on his website, the former Dead Or Alive singer, who appeared on Celebrity Big Brother 2006, collapsed at his home last Wednesday and was rushed to hospital. Doctors began emergency surgery after they believed he was suffering from kidney failure. During the five hour operation, doctors found eight kidney stones in each organ but were unable to remove them because of a blockage.
He explained: “I’m in a very serious condition on 24 hours intravenous morphine for the pain.
“Intravenous fluid as I’m so dehydrated and the kidneys can’t retain the liquid.
“I’m critically ill and under 24 hours observation and will be in hospital for quite a long time.”
