Mel B: Cheryl Cole will have to prove herself if she wants to crack the US

Melanie Brown has said she thinks Cheryl Cole will need to work hard if she wants to crack the US.

The Girls Aloud star is reportedly planning to launch herself in the States after her success as a judge on The X Factor.

Former Spice Girl Mel B, who has been based in Los Angeles for nearly a decade, told Closer magazine: “I hear Cheryl Cole has been having meetings out here in America lately, and wants to get some work in the States.

“I don’t know her, and I don’t know how well she sings, but Brits can do really well out here if you have determination, drive and talent – and it seems she has it!”

“The only advice I’d give Cheryl is that out here, you have to prove yourself.

“You can’t just come out and tell everyone you’re going to be a star - she’ll need to entertain people.

“If she’s going to sing, then she should get her vocal chords in order and blast herself off with a big show.”
