Lindsay Lohan’s arrest warrant quashed as a “miscommunication”
Lindsay Lohan’s arrest warrant has been dismissed by a California judge after the Mean Girls star proved that she had complied with the terms of her probation.
The $50,000 warrant was released by officials in Beverly Hills on Friday after Lindsay apparently had failed to attend alcohol education classes. Lindsay was sentenced to an 18 month education programme as well as two days in jail (of which she served 84 minutes) and three years probation after being arrested for two DUIs in just over two months in the summer of 2007.
The actress was expected to appear in court yesterday but was allowed not to attend by the judge, who accepted her lawyer’s claim the warrant was issued because of a “miscommunication” after Lindsay swapped education programmes “due to a personality conflict”.
Lindsay now needs to show proof of enrollment in a new programme within three weeks or face further legal proceedings.
