britney spears and adnan ghalibBritney Spears‘ ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib has been banned from contacting the star for the next three years.

The singer began a fling with Adnan, who was born in Birmingham, after reportedly flirting with him for months while he followed her as a paparazzi photographer. The couple were largely inseparable on the weeks leading up to her first brief hospitalisation in January 2008 and took a trip to Mexico together before her second hospitalisation at the end of the month, which resulted in her dad Jamie Spears being appointed her conservator.

Under Jamie’s supervision, Britney was prevented from seeing the former photographer and Jamie requested the ban be made official at the start of this year, after claims Adnan was working with Britney’s former BFF/adviser Sam Lutfi to undermine her recovery and the conservatorship order. A temporary restraining order was initially granted but now it has been made “permanent”, meaning Adnan will not be able to see or contact Britney for at least three years.

A source explained: “Britney’s realised she doesn’t want anything more to do with Adnan anyway but this is a way of making that clear to him.”

Lutfi is due to appear in court on 1st April at a hearing to decide whether his restraining order should be extended as well. He claims he has been trying to “free” Britney from the control order but those close to her have testified that she’s “scared” of him.
