Natasha Richardson’s family said a final goodbye to the actress in a private funeral service this weekend.

Natasha died on Wednesday following a skiing accident last Monday while holidaying in Quebec, Canada. Her husband Liam Neeson, mum Vanessa Redgrave, sister Joely Richardson and sons Michael & Daniel were at her bedside when her life support machine was switched off. She died a short time later.

Oscar-winner Liam was one of the pallbearers at Saturday’s service, which took place near the family’s home in Millbrook, in upstate New York. A wake had taken place on Friday in Manhattan, with Uma Thurman, Ethan Hawke, Ralph Fiennes and Mia Farrow amongst those paying their respects.

After Saturday’s short service, Natasha was buried in the same cemetery as her grandmother Rachel Redgrave, the two plots facing each other.

Natasha received critical acclaim for her performances on Broadway and in London’s West End. She also starred in a number of films including Nell, The Parent Trap as Lindsay Lohan’s character’s mum, and Maid in Manhattan. She married Neeson in 1994 at their farmhouse in Millbrook and their sons were born in 1995 and 1996 respectively.
