jade goodyJade Goody’s mum Jackiey Budden and husband Jack Tweed sat a constant vigil at the reality TV star’s bedside for a day before Jade died in the early hours of yesterday morning.

A source told the Sun that Jackiey, Jack and Jade’s friend Kevin Adams were at her bedside when the time came: “It was very calm and very beautiful. Poor Jade was in a coma-like state for at least 24 hours.

“She would sleep for hours then stir and come round slightly. She was too weak to talk. The doctor had given her a lot of morphine because she was obviously in incredible pain.

“Jackiey was there the whole time. She never left her side because she was terrified of missing the moment when she slipped away. She gripped one of Jade’s hands and Jack held the other.

“Jackiey was in tears almost constantly and Kevin was his usual calming influence. When the moment came it was beautiful.

“It was a peaceful and merciful end for Jade. She deserved that. She was in so much pain and now all that hurt has gone.”

The source added: “She would have been so pleased that her mum was by her side on Mother’s Day. They had their differences over the years - but all that was forgotten. They were mother and daughter and always will be.”

Jade’s body was removed from her home in Upshire, Essex by undertakers yesterday morning, ahead of her funeral which is expected to take place within the next week.

Jade’s publicist Max Clifford said the funeral will “be very much a Jade Goody production with Jade doing her own thing her own way”, and will include a horse-drawn hearse leading a procession before a service at St John The Baptist Church in Buckhurst. The church service will be restricted to family and friends only but will also be screened for wellwishers outside the church.
