Jack Tweed worried he’ll be back in jail for Jade Goody’s funeral
Jade Goody’s husband Jack Tweed is reportedly worried that he’ll be sent back to jail and miss the reality star’s funeral next week.
At the start of the month, Jack was found guilty of his second assault charge in less than six months but due to Jade’s condition, sentencing was postponed until this week. After Jade died in the early hours of Sunday morning, Jack is due back in court on Thursday and at the trial, it was made clear that a “custodial sentence had to be considered”.
A source close to the family told the Mirror: “After all he has been through, the last thing he wants is to miss the funeral. He wants to say goodbye to Jade and be with her friends and family when she is buried.”
“He is desperately trying to get the hearing postponed. He’s doing everything he can to get it put back until after the funeral.”
Shortly after Jade was diagnosed with cervical cancer last August, Jack was sent to jail for his first assault - beating a teenager with a golf club - but was released early on conditional parole in January. His parole included a curfew restricting him to his mum’s house between the hours of 7pm-7am each day but it was temporarily relaxed last week to allow Jack to stay with Jade during her last hours.
Jade’s funeral will take place on Saturday 4th April - a week on Saturday - with a funeral procession starting from her home in Upshire, Essex at noon. The service will take place at the St John the Baptist Church in Buckhurst Hill, Essex: the church will be restricted to just invited friends and family but screens will be erected outside for other wellwishers to watch the service.
