Jade Goody’s sons won’t attend her funeral next week
Jade Goody’s sons will reportedly not attend her funeral next week.
Five year old Bobby and four year old Freddie will be cared for by relatives during the service next Saturday after their dad Jeff Brazier and Jade’s mum Jackiey Budden decided they would find it too upsetting.
A source told the Sun: “The boys are so young - Jackiey said she doesn’t think their broken hearts will be able to bear it.
“It’s also about the safekeeping of their memories of their mum for when they are older.”
The event next Saturday is expected to be a “grand celebration” of the reality TV star’s life with her publicist Max Clifford explaining that it is very much a “Jade Goody Production”.
A funeral procession will begin from Jade’s home in Upshire, Essex and will pass through the estate where she grew up in Bermondsey, South London before proceeding to St John The Baptist Church in Buckhurst Hill, Essex for the service. The church will be limited to close friends and family only but other well-wishers will be able to watch the ceremony on TV screens erected outside the church for the occasion.
Jade will be buried in her wedding dress - the £3500 Manuel Mota gown she wore when she married husband Jack Tweed a month ago - and her wedding ring. Her beautician friend Nilam Patel has agreed to do her make-up: “Jade would want to look her best, and I wouldn’t like to think of a stranger doing it.
“It may sound macabre and it’s not something I’ve ever done before. But I’d do it for Jade.”
Jade died of cancer at her home a week ago. She was 27.
