Madonna and David RitchieMadonna has taken her son David back to meet his biological father in Malawi while she is in the country to adopt a second child.

Madonna flew into the country on Sunday with daughter Lourdes and sons David & Rocco ahead of a court hearing yesterday. The singer is believed to be interested in adopting a three year old girl, known as Mercy, from the same orphanage David came from in 2006. She attended the High Court in Lilongwe briefly yesterday but the case was adjourned until Friday.

Afterwards, she took her children to visit poor villages around the capital - and took David to meet his biological father, Yohane Banda.

Yohane told reporters that he and the three year old boy spoke through an interpreter: “He asked me in English who I was and what I do. When I told him, ‘I am your daddy’ he looked surprised.

“We spent three hours together… David is quite chatty and intelligent. It’s amazing how [he] has grown. I can’t believe he is the same small and sickly baby.

“He asked whether I ride horses but I told him horses are for the rich. He asked me why I am poor. He said his mum likes riding horses and told me that one day he and his brother, Rocco, rode horses and fell. He said his mum spanked him because they are not supposed to ride on their own.

“He seems to likes his daddy [Guy Ritchie] so much. I was a sad Madonna broke up with him. I would have loved it if they sorted out whatever problems they had instead of divorcing because divorce is bad for kids.”

An onlooker added: “Yohane said he understood why David had not recognised him. He was such a young child when they parted. Yohane said he hardly recognised David, either, as he has grown so big and strong.

“It was an emotional meeting for Yohane, but David kept playing with his nose, which made him laugh.”
