kerry katonaKerry Katona is reportedly on the verge of a nervous breakdown due to money and marital stress.

While the former Atomic Kitten reconciled with husband Mark Croft just days after they separated last month, sources close to the couple insist that Kerry is paranoid that Mark will leave her to return to his ex-girlfriend Louise, with whom he has a seven year old daughter.

A source told the News of the World: “Normally Kerry would pay a private eye to watch Louise and see if he showed up. But she’s skint so she decided to do the detective work herself.

“She is totally paranoid about Mark going back to Louise. She hates the fact that she is the other woman he has loved and that she will always be in his life.

“Kerry can’t buy Mark’s affection any more because the money has run out and she is beside herself at the thought of him leaving again.

“Kerry has gone into complete meltdown, she’s in a right state. She’s worried sick about money too.”

Last year Kerry was declared bankrupt after failing to pay an £82,000 tax bill then lost a number of lucrative deals after her infamous “slurred” interview on This Morning. Now she is said to be worried that she will be dropped by frozen food company Iceland in favour of Dancing on Ice’s Coleen Nolan.

The source added: “You don’t want someone in Kerry’s fragile state to be the main face of your brand. She’s close to the edge.”
