Jade Goody’s family don’t want her grave to become a shrine
Jade Goody’s family have asked fans to stay away from the reality TV star’s grave.
After the funeral on Saturday, Jade was buried in a private country churchyard and her grave marked with a wooden cross and brass plaque reading “In Loving Memory of Jade Goody“. Her family and husband Jack Tweed had hoped the location would remain a secret but word got out and around 100 people visited the grave yesterday.
A source told the Sun: “Only a few people were meant to know about this place, the family wanted it that way. There’s talk of getting security here if it gets out of hand.
“Jack is not happy. He doesn’t want the whole graveyard being trampled by strangers.
“He’ll get very upset if he tries to visit over the coming days and there are hundreds of people there.
“The family really hoped their privacy would be respected. [They] don’t want to turn it into a shrine.”
Jade’s funeral included a 27 mile procession through East London, from Bermondsey where she grew up to her current home in Upshire, Essex before the funeral service took place at St John the Baptist church in Buckhurst Hill, Essex. Hundreds of fans lined the route and the service was broadcast to those outside the church via giant TV screens erected for the occasion.
