Sam Ronson’s family seek restraining order as Lindsay Lohan confirms split

Lindsay Lohan has confirmed she’s split from girlfriend Samantha Ronson, amid rumours that the DJ’s family is seeking a restraining order against Lindsay.

Lindsay told E! News yesterday: “We are taking a brief break so I can focus on myself.”

The women, who dated for just over a year, are said to have broken up after an argument last week - and Sam’s family are keen to keep the women apart. Lindsay was barred from attending a Ronson family party on Friday night and a workman was spotted changing the locks at Sam’s house over the weekend.

A source told People magazine: “Sam’s family has made her swear that it’s really over. They are giving her all the support they can to keep her away from Lindsay.

“Sam changed the locks on her house. Lindsay moved her stuff out as much as she could [before then]. She’s basically totally out of the house as far as her stuff and she’s not living there any more.”

As for the restraining order, Sam’s mum Ann Dexter Jones and twin sister Charlotte Ronson contacted Beverly Hills police about obtaining the ban.

A spokesperson told Us Weekly: “They were directed to the court to get a restraining order.”

Another police source told OK magazine that fashion designer Charlotte spoke plainly about the reasons for their request: “[Lindsay] does these things to get attention.

“She was trying to get into my party this weekend. We had to tell security to keep her out. Then she booked a room at the Chateau Marmont. Her room was right below… She also followed our brother Mark around.

“She got up illegally to our room. She does these acts of public humiliation. It is all for attention… She was also got physical with Mark.”

The source added that Ann explained that Lindsay was “doing drugs” and “cuts herself too”.

Lindsay began dating Sam after leaving rehab for their third time in late 2007. Teetotal Sam was said to have been a calming influence on the actress but after they went public with their romance last summer, they were frequently spotted having public arguments and fights.
