The singer and her three children - daughter Lourdes and sons David & Rocco - have been living in luxury apartments in Manhattan since they relocated to the city from London last year amid the breakdown of Madonna’s marriage to Guy Ritchie - but now the star has decided that the children need more room to grow.

According to the New York Post, Madonna was drawn to the 13 bedroom, 14 bathroom property in the Upper East Side because it reminded her of the London townhouses where she had lived with Guy. The property also includes a two-car garage, nine fireplaces, an elevator, wine cellar and extensive gardens.

A source explained: “She wants her children to grow up in New York but they’re used to London [so] she is trying to recreate London in New York City. It’s perfect for her.

“They’re going to have decorators and security personnel working overtime to get it ready for them.”
