jack tweedJack Tweed has reportedly been placed in his jail’s hospital wing amid fears for his safety.

A source at Chelmsford Prison told the Sun he’s been placed in a single cell alongside at-risk inmates and those on suicide watch: “He’s been through some terrible weeks and the bosses don’t want to take any risks with him.

“Jack was having nightmares about returning as he was picked on so badly last time because of his celebrity status.

“There are genuine concerns that he could be targeted, it’s the sort of thing the tough guys would brag about to their mates.

“The last thing the governor wants is for someone like Jack with a high media profile to take a shoeing. They’d rather give him the soft soap treatment than risk bad headlines.”

The source added that the prison bosses are also worried for Jack’s mental state following the death of his wife Jade Goody a few weeks ago: “The powers that be don’t think Jack is suicidal but they know he’s fragile.

“He’s just been through some terrible weeks in his personal life and, combined with what happened to him last time, they don’t want to take any risks.”

The 21 year old was sentenced to 12 weeks in custody on Tuesday following his assault conviction a month ago. He is expected to serve half the sentence in jail before being released on licence again.

Yesterday, Jade’s publicist Max Clifford confirmed that Jack was “very, very down” following her death and his conviction.
