madonnaMadonna was briefly hospitalised yesterday after falling off a horse.

The star was riding at the home of photographer Steven Klein in the Hamptons, just outside New York City, yesterday afternoon when the horse was spooked. Her publicist claims the horse threw the star when “paparazzi .. jumped out of the bushes to photograph the singer”.

Madonna was wearing a horseriding helmet at the time of the incident and wasn’t badly hurt. Her publicist explained: “Madonna, who was thrown off a horse, has just been released from Southampton Hospital with minor injuries and bruises.

“Madonna will be having further tests and continues to remain under observation by doctors.”

The singer learned to ride after moving to England and buying a country estate, following her marriage to Guy Ritchie in 2000. In 2005, she was thrown from a horse at the estate, breaking her collarbone & hand, and cracking three ribs.
