Lily Allen: I was better known as a trainwreck than a singer
Lily Allen has revealed she was worried her partying would derail her career before it really began.
After the huge success of her debut album ‘Alright, Still’ in 2006, Lily became as well-known for her lifestyle as she did for her music and that made it hard to write her second album: “I took a bit of a beating from the press first time around. I became more famous for being a train wreck than a singer.
“I didn’t think I was capable of writing songs and making music.”
But she added that while she admits she partied hard, she doesn’t think she was anywhere near as bad as she was made out to be by the media: “Young women are represented in a way that isn’t true.
“If a girl is seen having a drink she’s a drunk. If that happens with a guy it’s not portrayed the same way.”
The star released her second album ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’ in February.
Do you think Katie Price's marriage to Alex Reid will last?
