amy winehouseAmy Winehouse’s spokesperson has downplayed the singer’s hospitalisation on Friday night.

Amy was rushed to hospital in St Lucia on Friday after she collapsed at the villa she’s renting on the Caribbean island.

He spokesperson said that despite Amy’s previous hospital stays for serious medical problems related to her drug abuse, this time it was simply a case of dehydration: “She fainted at home and they took her in for observation.

“They told her that she was dehydrated and needed to drink more water. She has been taking part in a lot of activities which also played a part.”

However, sources on the island claim that Amy had been drinking heavily since dad Mitch Winehouse flew back to the UK on Tuesday. Her mum Janis Winehouse is expected to arrive on the island this weekend.
