Paris Hilton: I’m the busiest person in the world
Paris Hilton has revealed that she’s too busy to look at phone bills or keep a diary of her activities.
The socialite is currently being sued for $8million worth of damages by the producers of her 2006 film Pledge This!. The film performed dysmally at the box office - and was released straight to video in many places - which the film’s makers & investors blame on Paris’s failure to promote the movie.
At a pre-trial hearing in Miami this week, her lawyer Michael Weinstein described Paris as “the single busiest person on the planet” and Paris insisted she did her best to promote the flop: “Any chance I got, any red carpet, any press, if I was doing something for another product…
“I would just bring it up, ‘Oh, my new sorority film, it’s going to be sexy, it’s going to be really hot girls’ - like I really, you know, did my best’.”
When asked if she had any records of meetings where she had promoted it, Paris explained that she doesn’t keep a business appointments: “I just [type] my name and Google it and see [what I’ve been doing].”
As well as one of the main parts, Paris was appointed an executive producer on the film but she explained: “I’m not sure what a producer does, but… I don’t know, help get cool people in the cast.”
She added that she couldn’t say whether or not she’d spoken to other producers from the film about publicity: “With my phone I never know, because I lose it all the time. I probably get a new cellphone, like, every two weeks.
“I’ve never seen a phone bill of mine in my life. Does it say [who receives them for me]? I don’t know. I’m assuming, like, whoever pays my bills.
“I just feel bad. This is my first time looking at a phone bill.”
The case will return to court next month.
