Katie Price and Peter Andre are reportedly blaming each other for ending their marriage.

Three and a half years after they married in a lavish ceremony at Highclere Castle, Hampshire, the couple’s manager announced their separation yesterday. Katie, also known as glamour model Jordan, later issued a statement blaming Pete for the split.

She said: “Pete is the love of my life - and my life.

“We have children together and I am devastated and disappointed by Peter’s decision to separate and divorce me - as I married him for life.

“This is not what I want and the decision has been taken out of my hands.”

But sources close to the pair insist that it was Katie who was “insistent on pressing the self-destruct button”, with her continued love of partying.

A source close to the couple told the Mirror: “Peter always knew that going out with someone like Jordan would attract jealous glances.

“He hated her going out and getting drunk. He couldn’t trust her when she was drunk.

“He was also jealous of the male attention that follows her and told her so. She on the other hand was driven mad by his jealousy.

“But at the end of the day they always kissed and made up. However, it got too much for him. It’s very sad.”

The last straw for Peter is said to have been photographs of the glamour model was partying in Bristol over the weekend, showing off her bra and drunkenly flirting with other men. He’s quoted as telling a friend: “She’s rubbing my face in it - she knows her behaviour is out of order.”

Katie is now believed to have fled overseas with the couple’s two youngest children, leaving her oldest son Harvey from a previous relationship at their home in Surrey with a nanny.

A source told the Sun: “Peter is devastated. He doesn’t know where they all are.”

The tempestuous couple are expected to fight over custody of the children - son Junior and daughter Princess Tiaamii, who turn three and two respectively next month - and their estimated £50million joint fortune.

However, many close to the couple wouldn’t be surprised if they got back together. One friend of the family is quoted as saying: “At the end of the day, there is a lot of love there.

“A bit of time a part might show them how much they care about each other and they both want to do the right thing for their kids.

“It’s going to take a lot of compromising but no one would be that surprised if they got back together.”
