Ashley Olsen: I’m giving up acting to focus on fashion

Ashley Olsen has revealed she’s turning her back on acting in favour of working full time in fashion.

Ashley and her twin sister Mary-Kate Olsen began acting in US sitcom Full House at just nine months old and later starred in various self-titled video series and other films playing twin status.

However when the pair hit their late teens, they made it clear they wanted to work on separate projects and now at 22, Ashley has said they’re heading in completely different directions.

She told Vman magazine recently: “I’ve been transitioning from acting as a kid to doing something that I’m choosing for myself - to be part of the fashion industry.

“That’s what I want for my future. It has nothing to do with my past, nothing to do with anyone else’s agenda. And I followed my heart the whole way.

“[Our fashion label] The Row is really something that I’m doing while my sister still wants to focus on acting.

“She’s my partner in The Row, but she trusts me with the everyday. I mean, I see her like 10 times a day.”
