Madonna’s boyfriend’s dad has confirmed that the star is planning to exchange vows with the male model.

News broke at the weekend that Madonna is planning a commitment ceremony with boyfriend of six months, Jesus Luz - just eight months after she split from husband of eight years, Guy Ritchie.

Speaking to Quem magazine in their native Brazil, Jesus’s dad Luis Heitor Pinto da Luz confirmed the commitment ceremony rumours: “The kabbalah ceremony [in New York that] will link up my son Jesus Luz and Madonna only confirms that he is extremely happy.

“I don’t know if there will, in fact, be a real marriage between Madonna and my son. It will be a type of ritual, but I do not know [if the ceremony] will have legal validity.”

He added though that marriage or no marriage, Jesus is well and truly accepted as part of her family: “She has small children, and Jesus helps her out with various tasks involving all of them.

“He plays ball with the kids. Jesus has charisma and loves children.”

Madonna has two sons from her marriage to Ritchie - eight year old Rocco and three year old David - and she also has a twelve year old daughter, Lourdes, from a previous relationship. She is currently trying to adopt another daughter from Malawi - her request to adopt three year old Mercy James was turned down last month but the ruling is currently being appealed.
