Nicole Kidman’s spokespeople have denied rumours that the actress and husband Keith Urban are adopting a baby from Vietnam.

Rumours that the couple are adopting a child were sparked when an official from the country’s Department of International Adoption at the Ministry of Justice told Australia magazine, New Idea: “Yes, Nicole Kidman wants a baby from Vietnam.

“We’ve been approached by the American Embassy.”

The official, Dang Minh Dao, added that he could not give any details about the requested child such as whether it was a boy or a girl, or what age they were looking for: “This is very sensitive information. We are keeping it closed.”

However, Nicole’s spokesperson has dismissed Dao’s claims as “a complete fabrication” and said “there is no truth to it whatsoever”.

Nicole is currently rumoured to be pregnant with the couple’s second child - their first child together, daughter Sunday Rose, was born last July. Nicole also has two teenage children from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise.
