Peaches Geldof’s estranged husband Max Drummey has confirmed that their six month marriage was simply a publicity stunt.

The couple married in Las Vegas last August, just weeks after meeting for the first time and before Peaches had completely broken up with her ex-boyfriend Faris Badwan. Two months into their marriage, Peaches admitted she didn’t think it would last forever and they announced their separation in February this year.

Now musician Max has confirmed the union was simply to raise their profiles in the media. He’s quoted as saying: “It was totally a publicity stunt. 100 per cent.

“I have her [Peaches] on retainer. Not as my PR, as my friend. On my personal payroll. She’s my friend for money. She also orchestrates publicity stunts for me.”

He added that he was “glad” how their brief marriage worked out: “I’ve garnered so much amazing publicity from awesome people.”
