Paris Hilton has split up from the man she dubbed her “future husband”, Doug Reinhardt.

Socialite Paris started dating The Hills star Doug at the start of the year and frequently gushed about her new love, calling him her “future husband” and discussing the children they would have together. In return, Doug said he thought Paris was “the one” and that he was planning to propose.

But the relationship came to a sudden end this week after the couple reportedly got into a public argument at The Darkroom club in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, which ended with Paris dumping Doug then leaving the club in tears.

A source told TMZ: “[Paris realised] Doug is a douche just like everyone tried to tell her and that he was only dating her for publicity.”

A spokesperson for the heiress confirmed the split saying: “In response to the enquiry on whether Paris Hilton has split up with Doug Reinhardt, yes, this is true they are no longer together.

“They remain friends and ask that you please respect their privacy.”
